A new energy tool has been introduced in Nottingham in an effort to help residents make substantial savings on their energy bills.

Entitled the Nottingham Energy Calculator, the system enables people to discover the financial savings which could be gained by introducing measures such as insulation, double glazing and new boilers among flue accessories.

Alan Clark, Nottingham City Council's portfolio holder for energy and sustainability, said: "Our energy tools are an innovative way of tackling the need to reduce the city's carbon emissions, increase the energy independence of the city and help our citizens save money on their energy bills."

Mr Clark added that the Nottingham Energy Calculator will assist in raising awareness of the measures which citizens can take to boost the heating of their homes.

The remarks come after a specialist from Revitaglaze.com advised that window films can help to bring savings on energy bills.

Paul Cousineau, sales and marketing director at the website, said that the equipment acts as a great way for clients to insulate their properties.
