Residents at Baton Village have seen their heating bills fall by up to 60 per cent as a result of new heating renovations.

Thanks to new innovations fitted by the City West Housing Trust, those living at Engels in Barton Village are now spending only £6 on average on heating their homes, which accounts for a saving of £9, reports 24Dash.com.

A key part of these renovations is the EcoPod Heating system, which makes use of solar polar to reduce fuel costs and lower carbon emissions.

Speaking to the news provider, Colette McKune, director of asset management for City West Housing Trust, said: "We are delighted that our residents are able to benefit immediately from the improvements we have made to Engels."

Elsewhere in the UK, East Devon District Council has announced that it will invest more money to improve home heating in the area.

The authority will be able to carry out such work because its loan repayment is lower than the government subsidy would have been.
