More households in Stockton could see a significant reduction in their energy bills as a result of a £6 million investment in the town.

The GoWarm Parkfield initiative aims to carry out improvements at an extra 500 houses, after completing work at over 400 homes, which equated to a value of £3.9 million, reports the Bdaily Business Network.

Speaking to the news provider, Karen Hindhaugh, director of GoWarm, said: "While there are many companies offering various energy efficiency measures, such as cavity wall and loft insulation, the GoWarm Parkfield initiative is specifically designed to provide homeowners with a package of multiple measures for free."

Ms Hindhaugh said that she is delighted about extending the scheme and delivering benefits to even more homeowners.

Schemes such as the GoWarm Parkfield initiative could be incredibly important to residents, especially after a study by Santander found that household bills have increased at almost double the rate of inflation over the last decade.
