A chimney fire occurred at a restaurant in Alabama, USA yesterday, which may warn homeowners to employ caution when using components such as flue liners for woodburners.

The fire broke at Carlile's BBQ restaurant in the city of Birmingham and fire men attended the scene after a pedestrian notified them of flames that were emanating from the building's chimney, according to CBS 42.

Fire services were able to effectively treat the blaze by ensuring that it did not travel from the barbeque pit to other areas of the restaurant.

There have been other chimney fires in America this week, including one that damaged a house and prompted the evacuation of two residents, according to KCRG.

The fire transpired in a country community situated near the city of Stayton but KCRG confirmed that no injuries have been caused.

A total of six fire crews were called to the fire and they determined that it happened after building materials that were placed near the house's chimney ignited.
