Energy conservation will turn into a bigger deal in the future, it has been suggested.

Ian Hall, head of sales at Granada Secondary Glazing, stated that, while it will take a couple of years before the public understands the government's aims of the Green Deal, energy conservation is becoming more important for individuals and organisations.

"Energy conservation, as we go into the future, will become a bigger and bigger deal, so the more that everybody - companies and individuals - can do to reduce energy costs, the better," Mr Hall explained.

However, he reiterated that the Green Deal will not make an immediate impact, as it is currently a "buzz word".

Recently, a study by think tank IPRR called for tougher regulation of the energy sector to be enforced to make pricing fairer.

The group believes that the big six energy companies are charging their consumers with fees that are too high.
