New homes in Maidstone have enjoyed a marked increase in sales over recent weeks, with their energy efficient measures one of the reasons behind their success.

Twelve of the Redrow Homes properties in Sutton Woods have been sold in the last two months, evidencing that there are a number of buyers in the market who are searching for sustainable houses.

Mary Timlin, sales director for Redrow Homes, said: "We have a wide range of four-bedroom houses for sale that represent excellent value for money as well as offering a host of impressive energy saving features to help keep residents' fuel bills low."

Included in the properties are energy efficient central heating systems and solar panels.

News of Redrow Homes' progress comes after Bristol residents were helped with their fuel bills through the European Commission's 3e Houses project.

The initiative will see smart energy monitors fitted in 100 homes, while online help will also be given out to assist with using energy in the home.
