There are now more encouraging signs for people looking to install flue accessories within the house building industry, one organisation has stated.

This is despite the fact that significant constraints are still continuing to hold back the industry, according to a representative from the Home Builders Federation (HBF).

Steve Turner, head of communications at the HBF, said: "We have heard some encouraging things from government in recent months [...] but we need to see the new planning system focusing, working and delivering enough land to build the homes we need."

Mr Turner admitted that mortgage lending is still a constraint for businesses, while an absence of viable land is also a stumbling block.

Figures released by the National House-Building Council revealed on June 24th that house-builders registered 29 per cent more new homes in May when compared to the previous month.

A total of 10,841 new homes were registered during May, showing an increase from 8,414 in April.
