Over 200 homes in Hull are benefitting from instant hot water and gas central heating following the introduction of a new project.

Community Energy Solutions has partnered with Northern Gas Networks for the scheme, which has completed the extension of it gas pipeline to 220 households in the city that previously were deprived of a mains gas supply.

As part of the project, retired carer Pauline Smith has been given a free gas connection, and said: "The gas central heating system I’ve had installed via CES is already making a real difference, not just to me but to the three grown up children and four grandchildren who visit."

Hull is not the only area that has gained heating upgrades recently, as 24Dash has revealed that properties in the County Durham village Satley have been fitted with new air-source heat pumps.

The new appliances will replace solid fuel heating systems, which previously cost residents up to £40 a week in winter.
