Landlords in Lincoln are taking advantage of free loft insulation that is being made available by Parr Energy Solutions.

Lighthouse Property Services is putting landlords in touch with the organisation, which is using government funding to carry out the improvements.

Simon Sewell, lettings director at Lighthouse, described the project as a "great scheme".

"It’s important for us to always be on the lookout for things which can help save our landlords money and make life more comfortable for the tenants," Mr Sewell continued.

He went on to say that, in addition to being more energy efficient, insulation gives people financial benefits and reduces their spending on monthly gas and electric bills.

Such savings could be particularly important, after the Financial Times reported British Gas' owner Centrica as saying that UK households could face more increases in their fuel bills because of higher wholesale gas prices.

The group, however, did not reveal if or how it may raise its costs.
