Residents in new sustainable properties in Sleaford have given their new households an excellent rating.

The bungalows in Eslaforde Gardens boast solar water heating systems and air-source heating pumps, while insulation is also fitted in order to boost their green credentials further, reports the Lincolnshire Echo.

Speaking to the news provider, resident Helen Quirke said: "We really love all of the eco elements to the house and are really looking forward to getting a bill to see just how efficient they are."

The properties have been tailored for people aged over 55, with financial support provided by North Kesteven District Council and the government's Homes and Communities Agency.

Recently, new sustainable homes in Maidstone were found to be popular among residents.

Twelve of Redrow Homes' energy efficient properties in Sutton Woods have been sold in the last two months, indicating that people in the area are favouring houses with green credentials.
