An Insulation body should be installed above the Spacer plate to ensure that heat is not transferred to combustible materials in the building construction.
An Insulation body should be installed above the Spacer plate to ensure that heat is not transferred to combustible materials in the building construction. Where this type of arrangement is used and the top part of the crossing is an enclosure the system should be complemented with the use of ventilation grilles at the top and bottom of the enclosure, to ensure that the correct ventilation is achieved. This ventilation is needed to avoid an unexpected increase of temperatures inside in the event of a soot fire inside the flue.
