Homeowners who are struggling to use their flue accessories to sufficiently heat their properties can benefit once again from the Warm Front scheme.
Re-launched by the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the new programme will offer support to more than 90,000 financially-insecure households across the forthcoming two years.
As part of the scheme, people will be able to benefit from new heating installations and improved insulation measures.
Energy and climate change secretary Chris Huhne said: "We have improved the Warm Front scheme so it's better targeted at those who need it most, helping around 90,000 households over the next two years."
Eligibility for the programme will now consider income related benefits, meaning that more emphasis will be placed on people with low incomes.
Additional help for financially vulnerable households is also set to be provided in the Green Deal next year, which will see the government revamp energy efficiency standards in the UK's homes.
