Last Friday, a chimney fire broke out at a cottage in Suffolk, which may act as a message to homeowners who have not been taking the correct measures to maintain chimney features such as flue liners for woodburners.

According to local news source the East Anglian Times, the fire began on Friday night at a house in Post Office Road, Coldfair Green, near Knodishall and a fire crew from Leiston fire station attended the blaze at 09:30 BST, which is said to have been caused by a woodburner.

This is not the only instance of a chimney fire in recent weeks, as a chimney fire in the city of Clayton, USA caused four businesses to temporarily close last week.

The fire originated from the chimney of the American restaurant Brixx Pizza in the Biltmore Park area of the city. The local fire service evacuated all inhabitants in the businesses and apartments situated above it, as firemen attempted to extinguish the fire.
