Changes to the world's climate and the actions surrounding it have had a substantial impact on boiler innovation, one group believes.

Boiler Guide has noted that there is now a range of boiler technologies on offer to homeowners, which can help to save residents money and boost the green credentials of their homes.

The organisation advised that biomass boilers are one of the most carbon neutral ways of heating a property, while high efficiency central heating boilers can also contribute to cuts in carbon emissions.

David Holmes, founder of Boiler Guide, said: "With a new type of condensing boiler homeowners can reduce their CO2 emissions by as much as 25 per cent, whilst also reducing heating bills by up to £300."

The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has also commented on modern heating technologies, and has urged the government to re-launch its boiler scrappage scheme.

Brett Amphlett from the BMF described the initiative as a "tried and tested" way to improve the energy efficiency of homes.
