The choice of fire that homeowners make will have an effect on the size of flue liner they need.
Jen, writing on The Big House Renovation Project blog, said that she and her partner Gavin are remodelling their home and one of the tasks they faced was checking if their chimney worked properly.
They called in a chimney sweep who identified that the drafting was fine and that the system was not blocked.
The next step is to find a suitable flue liner, however, this is not a straightforward choice.
"We just need to get flue liners dropped in – preferably whilst the scaffolding was still up. The size required depends on the choice of fire so we're now trying to decide," Jen stated.
