The government has announced that £3.5 million of funding will be introduced to assist in training hundreds of people in sustainability prior to the Green Deal's launch.
The scheme will be launched later this year, aiming to support 65,000 jobs by 2015 and renovate millions of homes which are lacking energy efficiency measures.
Energy and climate change secretary Edward Davey said: "We have worked hand in hand with industry to get this right and are targeting funding at the areas where there is an urgent need as well as a clear demand."
Mr Davey added that he hopes the money will persuade firms throughout the UK to prepare their staff for the Green Deal's launch.
Andrew Leech, director at the National Home Improvement Council, recently claimed that a reduction on the amount of VAT paid on home improvements is vital to the success of the Green Deal.
Mr Leech believes that a wide consumer take-up of the scheme is unlikely until the measure is enforced.
