A number of community centres in the Mansfield area are now taking advantage of energy efficiency measures to lower their bills.

Newark and Sherwood Homes is managing the efforts, which will see 25 per cent shaved off the monthly costs of its community centres, reports Chad.co.uk.

Speaking to the website, Andrew Dewberry, asset management and investment manager at Newark and Sherwood Homes, said: "The average savings for voltage optimisation is around ten per cent, but we were delighted when we found we were making around 25 per cent savings, which far exceeded our expectations."

Mr Dewberry explained that the work makes up part of the company's efforts to deliver most cost-efficient services for local people.

News of Newark and Sherwood Homes' energy efficiency work follows the launch of the Energy Efficiency Partnership for Buildings (EEPB).

The project hopes to create a hub of expertise to represent the industry's views on energy efficiency in the UK.
