Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service representative Richard Pester told the website: "This was real community spirit, with everyone working together. Our thanks go to the council, the police and the pub for their help."
The incident happened in the East Knoyle region, where local workers gritted a route in order for fire officials to reach a local incident.
