Steve Turner, head of communications at the Home Builders Federation, said that this type of property has "always been a very attractive proposition".
One of the reasons for this is that they are a lot more environmentally-friendly than older homes.
Therefore, if a wood stove is invested in then homeowners will find that more of the heat which they are creating is kept inside the home, reducing heating bills.
"There are a lot of offers out there and there is a lot of assistance with moving fees or legal fees. There are also a lot of incentives in terms of new kitchens et cetera or things within the house that are going to benefit the consumer," Mr Turner said.
Schemes like the recently announced NewBuy are also helping property investors buy their dream home.
