A pub within West Suffolk suffered a chimney fire on New Year's Eve, which temporarily halted celebration plans.

Flue accessories at the Bull pub near Bury St Edmunds were in danger, as a fire began in the property's chimney, leaving occupants to run outside, according to the East Anglia Daily Times.

The Bull's part-time barman Peter Heath told the newspaper: "I did the only sensible thing and called for the fire brigade and they were here in next to no time and dealt with it. They were brilliant."

Last month, ThisIsKent.co.uk reported that the Harrow Inn pub in Kent was damaged in a chimney fire.

The incident transpired on December 18th, after an alarm notified the pub's landlord of flames which were travelling towards the property's roof.

A rescue mission was also hampered by adverse weather conditions, as the water used by fire fighters was rapidly turning into ice after hitting the ground.
