A chimney blaze in Northamptonshire affected a property's flue accessories and led to intervention from local fire fighters.
The fire occurred at the Corner House in the county's area of Dingley, where fire officials were called to the incident shortly before 22:00GMT on Saturday (January 1st), according to Northampton newspaper the Evening Telegraph.
A representative from the local fire team told the newspaper: "It was a chimney fire which had spread to the floor joists and floor boards. Crews attended from Desborough and Market Harborough."
Last month, the Sentinel reported that Newcastle Borough Council's new £1.1 million home repair initiative will refurbish chimneys in 69 homes throughout Church Street within Silverdale.
The scheme started in September and will also renovate homes in Newcastle Street, as well as Congleton Road.
Local resident Richard Forrester told the newspaper that the new enhancements provided by the initiative will "increase the value of a property".
