The Ena Mill structure in Atherton is set to have its chimney and flue accessories transformed into a shopping outlet.

Local businessman Simon Yates is planning to convert the mill into a shopping destination and mill machinery museum, according to This Is Lancashire.

Mr Yates told the news provider: "It will soon be a case of 'look for the chimney' and Atherton is in a central position to attract people from throughout the north-west.

"All the brands we are bringing in are not going to hurt Atherton but attract more people with a spin-off for existing businesses in town."

Construction specialists are currently doubling the size of the site's floorspace by opening up non-structural partition walls.

STV has reported that new heating features are being planned for the proposed new location of a Wagamama restaurant in Edinburgh.

The fast food chain is hoping to open a site on the corner of Castle Terrace and Lothian Road.
