Prince Charles has revealed that his sons tease him for looking to cut down on the heating bill.

He has admitted that he keeps an eye on the environment by reducing the thermostat while he also recycles old curtains and turns them into cushions at his royal residence.

Princes William and Harry have taken great delight in their father's thriftiness, pulling his leg over his refusal to throw things away.

"They say, 'Oh, he's on again'. But you never quite know with your children, do you. I don't mind keeping the heating down as long as I can have a hot bath. I think I have inherited it from Queen Victoria, who also liked sitting in a draft," said Prince Charles.

It appears that the cost of energy has affected even the royal family, with the price of heating a home having risen out of sight over the past few years.
