Homeowners who have made the decision to invest in a wood-burning stove should hire a professional to install it for them.

Tim Lucas, a freelance writer, wrote in an article on suite101.com that only those with solid DIY skills should consider doing the work themselves.

"Burning indoors can be dangerous if done with inferior materials or shoddy workmanship," he said.

Mr Lucas added that it is vital that homeowners buy only the best materials for the system, which could include flue liners for woodburners.

"[This] is vital to a safe, warm, efficient heat source the whole family will safely enjoy for years to come," he said.

According to an entry on pellet-stove.co.cc, even those with a decent understanding of DIY and safety should leave the installation of flue liners for woodburners to seasoned professionals.

The source stated that should anything go wrong during the process, people could end up having to spend significant amounts of money correcting it.
