A chimney fire that erupted in Clayton, US has forced four businesses to close temporarily, which may act as a warning for individuals to carefully maintain their chimney cowls.

According to the Riverfront Times, the fire began at a restaurant titled Il Vicino, located at Central Avenue and Maryland in downtown Clayton, before spreading to Japanese eatery Sansei, as well as local stores Busy Bee Shoe Repair & Alterations and the Clayton Barber Shop.

Owners of the shops have told the news source that they hope to reopen at some point during the next week and Maria Mathias, who owns Busy Bee, has said that the outlets "don't have electricity" after the blaze.

This news comes after the Irish Independent announced that nearly 200 guests who were staying at Ireland's luxury Ritz Carlton Hotel were evacuated from the building earlier this week, after a chimney fire occurred in a wing of the hotel.
