A chimney fire in Ohio, US has led to six people being evacuated from their home, acting as a warning for those that use flue liners for woodburners.

The fire occurred in the town of Cedarville within Dayton and a wood burning fireplace has been cited as a potential cause in the Dayton Daily news.

In addition, the website reported that the blaze was noticed when smoke was released from the home's chimney, which led to the kitchen being engulfed in flames.

This news comes after a faulty fireplace and improper chimney installation were blamed for a fire in Wisconsin, US, according to the Channel 3000 website.

Damage was inflicted on the roof and other areas, resulting in repair costs that are expected to reach roughly $40,000 (£25,000).

A pizza delivery worker notified residents of flames being released from the home's chimney in the state's region of Madison, before the arrival of fire fighters.
