A number of renewable energy firms are not providing consumers with the correct advice on how green technology can be adopted among their flue accessories, one group has claimed.

In response to a Which? report on renewable installers, the Energy Saving Trust released a statement denoting its concerns over the UK's renewables industry.

Philip Sellwood, chief executive of the Energy Saving Trust, said: "Rapid growth in the domestic renewables industry has placed the current supply chain under pressure, and our own research has found that installers themselves are concerned about the quality of training they receive."

Installers and customers require access to clear and impartial information that can enable them to make balanced and informed choices regarding renewable energy, Mr Sellwood also stated.

The survey conducted by Which? found that three-quarters of businesses incorrectly predicted how much energy solar photovoltaic panels would generate.

Also, a substantial number of companies underestimated the amount of time it takes for the systems to pay for themselves.
