DNV and KEMA have announced that they will form an energy company, driving the worldwide transition towards a safe and clean energy ecosystem for users of flue accessories.

The two firms' respective activities are highly complementary to each other, meaning that the merger will provide a single compelling service that aims to provide many benefits to the energy sector. Processes covered by the new company include energy efficiency and carbon capture and storage.

Henrik O Madsen, the chief executive officer of DNV, said: "Through organic growth and acquisitions, we have built significant capacity relating to renewable and cleaner energy, such as wind and solar energy and carbon capture and storage."

Mr Madsen asserted that, over the past two decades, DNV has consolidated itself as a leading certifier and technical adviser on renewable energy, but the newly announced work with KEMA will allow it to further fulfil its ambition of reaching a low carbon economy.
