Boiler manufacturer Worcester has extended its five-year guarantee offer on selected Greenstar boilers until the end of March, which may entice many people who are looking to buy new flue accessories.

The offer was initially launched following a survey of 2,000 Worcester consumers, which found that just over half of respondents admitted that their boiler was out of warranty. In addition, 64 per cent confessed that they had no insurance policy or breakdown cover.

Martyn Bridges, director of marketing and technical support at Worcester, Bosch Group, said: "Quality and reliability are strongly associated with our brand and it is widely recognised that our products are chosen because the call out rate following the installation is so low."

This week, E,ON equipped its repair men with four-wheel drive Toyota Hilux Double Cap pick-ups, allowing improved transportation to customers who are affected by faulty boilers this winter.

The vehicles were provided by Toyota World in Birmingham under a three-year fleet partnership agreement.
