Fire crews were called to a property in Cheshire after flames emerged from the building's flue accessories.
The incident occurred yesterday (January 5th) in the county's Sandbach area, where firefighters had to survey the home to ensure that its owners would not be in danger of carbon monoxide poisoning, according to the Crewe Chronicle.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesman told the website: "The fire had started in the chimney and spread into the living room but was out on arrival. Firefighters made the property safe and ensured there were no hotspots."
Meanwhile, RoystonWeeklyNews.co.uk reported that fire officials had to recently battle a blaze in Hertfordshire.
Crews from Royston and Buntingford arrived to treat the fire, which occurred at the Crown Inn pub in Buntingford.
A spokeswoman from Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service told the website that the fire fighters also used thermal imaging cameras to conduct examinations of the roof and the building's first floor.
