The first stage of a £2 million renovation project that will revamp the flue accessories of Gresley Old Hall has been completed.
As a result, the site now boasts a new £35,000 heating system, after areas of the premises went without central heating since February. The new system was installed by project contractors at Gresley Old Hall Community Welfare Centre, reports the Burton Mail.
Both South Derbyshire District Council and the trustees of Gresley Old Hall have worked on the project.
Roy Hyde, the chairman of trustees, told the news provider: "We are grateful for the loyalty shown by our members and the many user groups who have continued to use our facilities since February, despite the lack of heating."
The Department of Energy and Climate Change has confirmed the first round of winners for its Renewable Heat Premium Payment competition.
Among these were City of York Council, Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership in Scotland, and the Monmouthshire Housing Association in Wales.
