Those installing flue liners for woodburners or other types of stove or fire have been advised that having too many bends in them can be a problem.According to the Antique Dolls blog, it is important homeowners also make sure that where there are bends, these are no larger than 135 degrees.
Ideally, there should be no more than two in flue liners for woodburners and other fires.
"You need to ensure that there are not too many bends and that the radius of any bends is as shallow as possible so as not to restrict flow," the blog stated.
The source added that an existing chimney could be used however, it will need to be large enough to get the flue liner down it otherwise it could become damaged and need replacing.
According to the Ask The Chimney Sweep blog, those installing flue liners for woodburners should avoid those made out of aluminium, as the temperatures are too high.
