A fire that started from a pub's flue accessories led to a road closure in Hampshire yesterday (December 13th).

The blaze occurred at the Waggon and Horses pub in Hartley Wintney High Street during the early afternoon, where fire fighters used a hose reel, a jet and chimney rods to extinguish the flames, according to GetHampshire.co.uk.

Neil Scott, the pub's long-serving landlord, told the website yesterday: "The fire brigade put it out safely and will come back in a couple of hours to check everything is alright."

This news comes after the BBC reported that a chimney fire in Dorset caused significant damage to a property.

The blaze happened at a home in Hyde, which is situated close to Wareham and fire officials were needed to remove parts of the building's roof.

Roughly 40 fire fighters treated the fire, with Dorset Fire and Rescue Service claiming that it began in a log burner, before spreading to other areas within the property.
