Homeowners have been advised to remain vigilant after several fires emerged from flue accessories in the East Anglia region.

Three chimney fires occurred in the region yesterday (January 31st), which were located in Worlingworth, Buxhall and Ipswich. As a result of these fires, officials have warned residents to clean their chimneys, according to EADT.co.uk.

Gary Clarke, group manager for the fire service, told the website: "We would urge all homeowners with chimneys to make sure that they are swept on a regular basis and that they ensure that the chimney breast is always well maintained and in a good condition."

Meanwhile, ThisIsTheWestCountry.co.uk has reported how chimney sparks led to a blaze in the West Somerset area.

The fire needed the attention of more than ten fire crews, which travelled from regions such as Wilton, Minehead, Porlock, Taunton and Bridgewater.

Fire fighters managed to put out the blaze using two foam jets.
