A chimney fire in the Bournemouth area managed to damage two properties, after flames from a home's flue accessories spread to a neighbouring house.
Two people were rushed to hospital, after heat from a fire in a Long Crichel property spread to the house next door and led to severe floor and skirting board damage, according to the Bournemouth Echo.
Fire fighters from Blandford worked at the scene for longer than two hours before a second team returned to check the property, while the two residents were treated for smoke inhalation.
Last month, the Haverhill Echo reported that a Cambridge chimney blaze triggered a safety appeal from fire fighters, who are recommending that homeowners properly maintain their heating appliances.
The blaze happened in West Wratting and needed the attention of fire teams from Sawston as well as Cambridge, which utilised hose reels and chimney rods to subdue the flames.
