A Norwich resident has boosted his finances in the last year after becoming a part-time chimney sweep.

Steve Bond works as a full-time turbine engineer, but he now fixes flue accessories in homes as a supplementary job and has even begun his own company, which is entitled Broadland Sweep, according to Norwich Evening News 24.

Mr Bond told the news outlet: "It started when I overheard a conversation about someone having to wait eight weeks to get a chimney sweep out. It was then I decided to do a course to get recognised."

When working for his own business, Mr Bond can be seen cleaning out chimneys as well as other appliances, such as cookers and woodburners.

Residents in the Norwich area are sure to benefit from his expertise when they suffer chimney maintenance issues.

Mr Bond's assistance could be particularly vital for structural chimney faults, which can be difficult to locate.
