Proposals have been put forward for a new biomass boiler to be added to the flue accessories at Parkers Nurseries in Thorpe.

The nursery is situated in Frinton Road and has applied for a new biomass boiler heating plant, after it successfully completed an application for expansive new glasshouses last year, reports the Clacton Gazette.

As part of the application, it was specified that the nine-metre development would be prominent in the wider landscape, while fitting in with the new horticultural complex.

In addition, the proposal noted that the premises would not be out of keeping with the countryside.

A decision on the application is set to be determined by Tendring Council in February.

This application follows the news that boiler manufacturer Worcester has extended its five-year guarantee offer on Greenstar boilers until the end of March.

The offer was initially launched after a survey of Worcester consumers found that more than half of respondents have boilers that are out of warranty.
