Testo has pioneered a new portable emissions tool, which helps to lead users through assessments of professional gas systems that are often seen among flue accessories.

Entitled the Testo 350, the device is used to measure the gas atmosphere in a furnace room, while boosting the control and observation of emission limit values within flue gas, reports Envirotech Online.

The contraption is comprised of a control unit, an analyser box and a gas sampling probe. Measurement values are also clearly displayed in the control unit's large colour display.

Calculation and instrument pre-settings are stored, meaning that people can use the device without requiring detailed knowledge on how to operate it efficiently.

The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings recently urged people to be aware that older chimneys are often lined with lime mortar parging, which may need to be replaced if signs of wear and tear are visible.
