An American home that housed two families has been destroyed after a fire broke out from its flue accessories.

The blaze occurred in Forks, which is a town located in the state of Pennsylvania. Three people managed to safely vacate the premises before the fire could inflict damage, though the house has been destroyed, reports LeighValleyLive.com.

Forks fire chief Chuck Chapman told the site: "Fire fighters from Forks and Lower Mount Bethel townships worked to keep the hotel and nearby a house from catching fire. A car port at the adjacent house was damaged."

Meanwhile, 13Wham.com has reported that a four-year old girl successfully alerted her neighbours to a destructive chimney fire in New York.

Young Victoria Holcomb noticed that flames and smoke was emanating from the chimney of a nearby property, which helped to alert her father, who then ran over to the home and advised its owners to leave.
