An environmental company in Warwickshire is developing new technology that enables flue accessories to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Yellow Wood Energy is working on carbon capture technology as a method of gathering the C02 generated from fossil fuels before it enters the atmosphere, which could be a key tactic for chimney specialists in years to come, reports the Coventry Telegraph.

Tim Yeo, MP and chairman of the energy and climate change select committee, told the newspaper: "The one technology the world needs more than any other at the moment is carbon capture and storage, quite simply because the world has a lot of coal, it's a cost effective way of producing electricity."

Carbon capture has also recently been addressed by other members of the government, as an official outlined its potential as a means of decreasing pollution.

Charles Hendry, the minister for energy, has said that carbon capture storage will help to enhance the efficiency of the UK's energy supplies.
