Landlords should undertake boiler checks to ensure that their flue accessories do not suffer any problems this winter, an expert has advised.

Preventative checks are the best way for people to guarantee that their boilers remain efficient. It is advisable for people to check that their room controls and thermostat is set correctly, according to a specialist from E.ON.

The group's regional manager Mark Emmett said: "It is predominantly based on checking that you have got your controls set correctly, room thermostat set correctly and some boilers now work on pressure.

"It might be that the pressure has decreased a little bit and is preventing the boiler coming on."

LandlordZone.co.uk recently advised landlords to conduct improvements on heating appliances in order to make their properties more energy efficient.

Due to the Green Deal, many people are exploring the sustainability of their homes, meaning that residential property is a beneficial area for people to invest money.
