South Lanarkshire College has won a green award after saving significant amounts of energy in its flue accessories.
From the 243 entrants across the UK, 13 winners were given their awards at a ceremony in London, where the college was the only representative from Scotland and the first from the country to win the award, reports STV.
Angus Allan, the depute principal of the college, told the news provider: "The college is delighted to receive this award in recognition of the innovative and forward-thinking approaches staff have developed to train students with skills for the present and for the future."
Mr Allan stressed that the project has been a key education resource for its students.
Meanwhile, an article for the Burton Mail has revealed that the first stage of a £2 million renovation project at Gresley Old Hall Community Welfare Centre has been completed.
It has brought a new £35,000 heating system to the site.
