The reintroduction of the Boiler Scrappage Scheme in England will help homeowners reduce the fuel used in their flue accessories, one group believes.
When it ran last year, the incentive proved to be a success, with 61 per cent of homeowners opting to replace their old boiler, making their homes more energy efficient and saving money in the process, according to the Boiler Guide.
David Holmes, founder of Boiler Guide, said: "Unfortunately during these increasing tough economic times, many homeowners simply cannot afford the initial upfront costs needed to install a new boiler. And that's why schemes like this are worth their weight in gold."
Mr Holmes underlined that the merits of the Boiler Scrappage Scheme have already been proven.
His remarks follow the National Home Improvement Council's advice that insulation can help to significantly increase the value of a home.
The group also noted that roof insulation can save money on energy bills.
