The use of carbon capture and utilisation (CTU) technology may help to boost the work of flue accessories specialists as well as the UK economy, it has been claimed.
CTU could be a key way of battling climate change, as it transforms carbon dioxide from a waste gas into a key part of industrial processes, according to a University of Sheffield professor, who was speaking to the Guardian.
Peter Styring told the newspaper: "Some of the technology we need has already been developed, some is at an early stage, and in some cases we need to develop new chemistry."
Mr Styring also remarked that the government must invest in the research and development of CTU.
Recently, Oil Voice reported that Summit Power Group, LLC and Blue Strategies, LLC have confirmed a new deal with Whiting Petroleum that will be captured by the Summit's Texas Clean Energy Project (TCEP).
The agreement will see a carbon capture project developed in Penwell, Texas.
