Creosote build-up within the flue accessories of an American home led to a chimney fire earlier this week.
The fire occurred in Payson, which is located in the state of Arizona, and emerged from the home's chimney walls during Monday afternoon, according to PaysonRoundUp.com.
Officials managed to subdue the flames quickly and minimal damage was inflicted on the property, but local fire fighters have warned the community that it may have been much worse, as creosote can trigger severe fires that have the potential to spread.
This news comes after BuryFreePress.co.uk reported that a pedestrian helped to rescue a home in Bury.
More than 30 fire fighters attended a blaze in the Ringshall region on Friday (January 28th) after an onlooker notified residents of smoke that was emerging from their chimney.
Watch manager for Stowmarket Russell Punchard told the website that it could have been "far more serious" if teams were notified of the flames later.
