The efficiency of flue accessories in homes is likely to become more important for buyers, one group has claimed.
However, the topic is not at the forefront of thinking for buyers at the moment, as they are currently more worried about other parts of the home, believing that sustainability does not make a big difference, a representative from Sense of Space Architects has commented.
Richard Addenbrook, managing director of the company, said: "Estate agents tend to concentrate on square footage and location, as opposed to build and design quality - there is an element of it, but it is not at the forefront of thinking at the moment."
These comments follow guidance from Build It, which advised that residents should conduct regular checks on their homes to ensure heating appliances are in good condition.
This is especially key because inadequately maintained homes can feature numerous hazards, risking the health of residents.
