Flue accessories insurance provider Warmguard has partnered with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to donate £30,000 to support the conservation of Adelie penguins and their habitats.

As part of its work, Warmguard will be funding imperative research, covering the foraging behaviour of the animals in the South Orkney islands. It is hoped that the efforts will help to advance scientific knowledge of Antarctica.

John Colinswood, managing director of WarmGuard, said: "We are all responsible for the protection and future of our planet and its many species, and as a socially responsible business WarmGuard are delighted to be able to provide the much needed funding for this research work."

Mr Colinswood also stated that the firm is committed to decreasing the environmental impact CO2 emissions have on homes.

It is working to help households achieve their optimum energy efficiency and economy rating from their home heating systems, which may also lead to financial savings.
