Owners of flue accessories can enjoy free energy efficient home upgrades in some cases, a specialist has claimed.
The government is anticipating a strong uptake on its Green Deal scheme, which will enable householders to spread the cost of sustainable measures over several years and even enjoy free grants in certain circumstances, according to the National Insulation Association (NIA).
Bev Coombe, membership and communications manager for the NIA, also outlined some of the benefits of having insulation fitted by the company.
Mr Coombe explained: "All [of] our installer members offer a free survey of your property and can recommend the most suitable products for your home."
He added that companies are surveyed to ensure they have adequate insurance and are financially viable.
This month, UK Energy Saving advised rural homeowners to explore alternative fuel options in the heating market, as long-term savings can be made by switching to them.
