The government should not rely excessively on one energy source to produce electricity among flue accessories, it has been claimed.

In order to maintain energy security while reducing damaging carbon emissions, it would be risky for people to selectively depend on one technology, a spokesperson from the Department of Energy has stated to the Press Association.

The representative explained: "Cost effectiveness is already at the heart of our energy policy. New nuclear is low carbon, secure and affordable. It will be important, but only as part of a mix alongside a portfolio of other technologies."

He went on to say that he expects the costs of the government's energy policies to be more than offset by its steps towards greater energy efficiency.

Recently, the Health Protection Agency told the Worcester News that people should have their boilers and heaters checked by a certified engineer.

These measures must be conducted to decrease the probability of carbon monoxide poisoning.
