Chris Huhne, the secretary of state for energy and climate change, has visited the headquarters of Worcester Bosch Group to explore its work with flue accessories.
Mr Huhne witnessed the extensive manufacturing and training facilities at the company, before gaining an insight into how high efficiency condensing boilers are manufactured.
He also looked round the firm's £1.5 million training academy, which is attended by thousands of installers yearly.
Commenting on his visit, Mr Huhne said: "The apprenticeship scheme here at Worcester Bosch Group is absolutely crucial to the reputation that this company has for quality.
"Training is an extremely essential part of giving the customer a high quality service."
Mr Huhne labelled the Worcester Bosch Group as a really good example of successful British engineering, as it boasts high quality products as well as effective operations.
Furthermore, he advised people to shop around as a means of lowering their energy bills.
